Back to Brewing!

To celebrate the end of the semester, I'll be brewing my first beer since the beginning of the year coming up next weekend (May 12). This time, we'll be making a Lemongrass Wheat Ale from Austin Homebrew Supply. Hopefully things will go smoothly, and this turns out to be a great batch when it's ready in August. I think this will probably be my last batch until I'm able to move out of this apartment and into a house somewhere; it is simply too much of a pain doing everything in my small kitchen.

Maybe someone can buy me this as a graduation present? =)

A great day at the ballpark!

Well, I had written a more detailed update here, but RapidWeaver decided to crash and take my entry with it. Anyways, sorry for the lack of postings here, but I've been pretty swamped trying to manage my work/school/social life. I've put up some pictures from the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio awards banquet that I was honored at, as well as pictures from a recent trip up to Detroit to watch the Tigers play at Comerica Park with Jared and Kelly. You can take a look at them by clicking here.

Results-Based Management presentation tonight, then off to Beaners to study until they close. Not a fun couple weeks ahead...

What's Going On

So it has been awhile since I posted anything here, and I'm somewhat bored at work... so here goes!

The past couple weeks have been pretty busy, and they will only get busier as I get closer to the end of the semester. I have large projects due in each of my classes, and each are at a various stage of completion. While I can't wait for this semester to be over, I am not looking forward to the first session of the summer semester as I'll be in classes Monday-Thursday from 5:30p until 8:50p. The good news is that once I'm done with those classes, I'll be done with college (most likely for good)! As if that wasn't enough, I've decided that I will be ready to take the CompTIA Project+ certification exam the week in-between semesters. Furthermore, I'm looking into joining the local chapter of the Project Management Institute; I think it will definitely be advantageous to my post-graduate school career. They have meetings every month where they talk about various project management issues and have guest speakers and sessions. Couple that with an all-weekend phone installation at the end of the month and you'll see that I've left myself with little time for anything else.

That's not to say that I won't be able to get out and have a little bit of fun. I'm heading up to a Detroit Tigers game on the 21st; Jared and Kelly organized a group of us to go up to the ballpark and watch a game. It should be a good time, and of course there is a brewery down the street that I haven't been to. Last weekend, Cheryl and I made it up to Ann Arbor and got to walk around the downtown area for a little bit before eating dinner at BD's Mongolian Barbeque and having a few drinks at the nearby Grizzly Peak Brewing Company. I absolutely love that area and will definitely be considering it when I begin looking for a new job. Plus, I've gotten to spend some more quality time with the AppleTV and must say that, encoding time aside, it is one pretty slick unit. I'm almost certain that I will be selling my Tivo soon (especially since it didn't tape The Office) since I haven't watched anything on it since I installed the AppleTV. Plus, I'd be able to cancel my Cable TV service, as well as the Tivo monthly fee, saving me a little bit of money each month.

Well, I guess I better end this post and get back to work... off to yet another exciting class tonight!
